The Anniversary of the Death of President Chiang Kai-Shek Commemorative






To mourn the passing away of our President Chiang Kai-Shek who not only had made great achievement for his people and country, but also contributed greatly to the cause of world peace and mankind, a set of "The Anniversary of the death of President Chiang Kai-Shek Commemorative Issue" was released on April 4, 1976, the first anniversary of his death. This set consists of seven stamps: four stamps at NT$2.00 each and three others at NT$5.00, NT$8.00, and NT$10.00 respectively.
To follow the ideals of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founding father of the Republic of China, President Chiang Kai-shek dedicated all his life to the cause of national revolution and reconstruction. During his lifetime, he accomplished many meritorious services for the country.
President Chiang was a man of firm integrity, high courage and deep political conviction. His accomplishments and his virtues have been recognized and admired throughout the world. The death of President Chiang is not only a great loss to China but also to the free world.

President Chiang Kai-shek's Meritorious service Commemorative Postage Stamps




Following the principles laid down by our National Father Dr. Sun Yat-sen, President Chiang Kai-shek had built up the army at Whampoa (1924-1925),led our people to unify China Through the Northern Expedition (1926-1928), to suppress bandits and repilse invasions (1929-1936), to win the War of Resistance against Japan (1937-1945), and to adopt the Constitution and set up a democratic government (1946-1948). He has made Taiwan the beacon of hope and rallying center of all our people; the eventual recovery of the China Mainland through eradication of Communists and resconstruction of the country will soon be achieved under his leadership.
President Chiang's feats and honors are respected all over the world. This set of Commemorative postage stamps were issued with six different designs to celebrate his meritorious services to China.
